How we rank search results

This page explains, in plain terms, how Vezeli decides the order businesses appear in on search results, city pages and neighborhood pages. It is published for business users under Regulation (EU) 2019/1150 on fairness and transparency for business users of online intermediation services.
1. What we match before we rank
A business only enters the list if it matches what you asked for: the city or neighborhood you searched, the category, the clientele filter (women only, men only, mixed) and the budget ceiling, where you set one. A keyword search additionally matches the business name, its description and the names of the services it offers. Only published businesses are listed; internal test records are excluded.
2. The default order
By default, matching businesses are ordered by subscription tier first — Pro, then Basic, then Starter — and within each tier by how recently the business joined Vezeli, newest first. That is the whole ordering rule. A single list returns at most 50 businesses.
3. Paid placement, stated plainly
Priority placement is a feature of the Pro plan. A business on Pro is placed above businesses on Basic and Starter that match the same search, because it pays for that position. Those listings carry a “Promoted” label wherever the list is ordered this way. We take no commission on bookings, and there is no auction, bidding or pay-per-click: the only way to influence position is the subscription tier, at the published price.
4. When you change the sort
Sorting search results by price — lowest or highest first — replaces the default order entirely. Subscription tier is ignored, businesses are ordered purely by their cheapest bookable service, and nothing is labelled as promoted.
5. What does not affect the order
Ratings and review counts do not reorder search results. Neither do profile photos, response times, booking volume, whether a business accepts online payment, or any payment to Vezeli other than the subscription itself. Distance is not used to rank: the map shows where businesses are, it does not sort them.
6. Other places businesses appear
The home page rails are not ranked by subscription tier. “Trending” is ordered by the number of bookings taken in the last 30 days, topped up with the best-reviewed businesses when there are too few; “New on Vezeli” is ordered by join date. Favorites are shown in the order you saved them.
7. Changes to this page
If we change how ranking works, we update this page and give business users notice before the change takes effect, as required by Regulation (EU) 2019/1150. Questions about your placement go to our support team.
